Concrete floor preparation
The primary application. Removing coatings, adhesive and surface laitance before a new floor goes down.
Diamond grinding blocks for concrete floor preparation and polishing — a grit sequence from coarse to fine, with the bond matched to the floor hardness.
A floor is ground in steps, not in one pass. Coarse grit removes the surface and flattens; each finer step removes the scratches of the one before it. Skip a step and the scratches stay visible under the sealer. The bond, meanwhile, has to suit the floor: a hard floor needs a soft bond, and a soft, green floor needs a hard one. Hubei Qianzhao Diamond Tools Co., Ltd (Ezhou, Hubei) produces 3 million diamond segments a year and exports to 14 countries.
Grit numbers, block dimensions and the mounting format are confirmed on quotation against your grinder and the floor.
At least four for a polished finish, and more if the floor is rough or coated. The rule is simple: each step must remove the scratches of the previous one, so the jump between grits has to stay small.
| What you are cutting | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Coating and adhesive removal | Coarse bond, aggressive — remove the layer without gouging the concrete |
| Flattening a rough or uneven slab | Coarse to medium, with a rigid block so the machine cuts flat rather than following the dips |
| Densifying before sealer | Fine grit — the surface is closed up before the densifier goes on |
| Polished concrete finish | Full sequence, coarse to polish, with even step spacing |
The most common mistake is jumping from a coarse grit straight to a fine one to save time. It does not save time: the fine block has to remove deep scratches, so it wears out fast and the finish still shows them. Step through the grits.
Grit, bond and block dimensions are set per floor and per machine. They are confirmed on your quotation.

The stage of the job decides the grit. The bond is set separately, from the floor hardness.
| Stage | Grit | Purpose | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripping | Coarse | Remove coating, adhesive, surface laitance | Aggressive bond, rigid block |
| Flattening | Coarse–medium | Level the slab, remove high spots | Rigid block so the machine cuts flat |
| Refining | Medium–fine | Remove the scratches of the previous step | Keep the step spacing even |
| Polishing | Fine–polish | Close the surface before densifier and sealer | Even passes, overlapping |
Grit numbers, block dimensions and mounting format are confirmed on the quotation. Send the plate photo with your inquiry.
Built for concrete floor preparation and polishing. Selection should account for the floor hardness, the finish required and the machine plate.
The primary application. Removing coatings, adhesive and surface laitance before a new floor goes down.
A full grit sequence, stepped evenly, is what produces a finish that reads as polished rather than painted.
Softer and more abrasive than concrete, so a harder bond is used to avoid wearing the block out before the surface is closed.
Blocks can be marked to match your brand. Marking is confirmed against the block size.
Skin packaging, colour boxes and neutral export cartons — including cartons with no branding for distributors.
Grit, bond hardness, block dimensions and mounting format are set per order, subject to a minimum order quantity.
Qianzhao has been making diamond tools in Ezhou, Hubei for seven years. The plant produces 100,000 blades and 3 million diamond segments a year, and exports to 14 countries.
Blocks are pressed and sintered in-house alongside the segment line. Producing 3 million segments a year is what allows grit and bond to be set per order.
From the floor. A hard, dense, old floor needs a soft bond so the metal wears and exposes diamond; a soft, green floor needs a hard bond so the block does not disappear. Tell us the floor age and hardness.
At least four for a polished finish, and more on a rough or coated floor. Each step has to remove the scratches of the previous one — the jump between grits should stay small.
Wet grinding gives longer block life and no dust, but many site jobs are done dry with extraction. Confirm the method when you order — the bond is matched to one or the other.
It depends on your machine plate. Send a photo of the plate with the inquiry and we will quote the matching format.
Confirmed on quotation, normally by grit set rather than by single block.
Share the order quantity, cutting machine, material and destination market so your inquiry can be reviewed clearly.
